Not voluntarily, and in absolute luxury. There are three in this countryMoor Larkinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05275057917684784541noreply@blogger.comBlogger5125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4665744582832084460.post-18453975427019675062015-12-02T08:17:36.477+00:002015-12-02T08:17:36.477+00:00It's also easy to forget, or not know for youn...It's also easy to forget, or not know for younger readers, how much more visible holiday camps were in British popular culture in the 1960s. They were often featured in TV magazine programmes and their adverts, for Butlins and Pontins certainly, were ubiquitous. I never went to one but had a very clear picture of what they were like. Anyone British watching The Prisoner on it's first showing would have to be half asleep not to notice the similarities.JohnSnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4665744582832084460.post-15767196232756716862012-05-10T00:31:32.823+01:002012-05-10T00:31:32.823+01:00Hi, I have a copy of the cutting that put me onto ...Hi, I have a copy of the cutting that put me onto this story if you or your mum might like to see it. It was from "The Stage". If you can email me at moor_larkin@yahoo.co.uk I'd be pleased to send you an image of it.

Many thanks for the further background. The fact that the group had the capacity to perform in so many languages suggested to me that they were not restricted to Britain.Moor Larkinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05275057917684784541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4665744582832084460.post-69456100336048353362012-05-09T00:33:46.765+01:002012-05-09T00:33:46.765+01:00Not such a "little cabaret act" though. ...Not such a "little cabaret act" though. They performed all over the world, in various shows, pantomimes, clubs, piers and they sang on the Ramstein Air base in Germany entertaining the American soldiers. They were also on the TV show star town in the late 70's representing Blackpool. Their last gig was Blackpool Grand theatre with Ken Dodd in the midnight matinee in 1978. My friend found this picture and showed it to me yesterday. I have the prisoner on VHS and I have watched it and my mum and her two sisters appear in lots of scenes. I am also a singer and visited portmerion to sing for a birthday party last summer. I will ask my mum if they were stage outfits or outfits for the programme I'm not sure. Veronica is the younger sister on the left, my mum is Jennifer in the middle and my Auntie Angela the eldest sister is on the right. My name is Rosie Harrison and I am a jazz singer also based in the Northwest of EnglandAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4665744582832084460.post-11314189085537242742012-05-08T23:06:02.111+01:002012-05-08T23:06:02.111+01:00How great that you spotted this Blog.
